A week and a show

Having had no internet access for over a week, I'll just catch up on events.

Tuesday
Microscope session on the microscope I'll be using for my Honours project. Returned home to find we have acquired a chainsaw and an edge cutter.

Thursday
Went out to uni to attend a Learning Centre workshop, which was generally quite useful. Ended up wandering around browsing in camping stores for nothing in particular.

Saturday
Went to kendo training, which was more of fumikomi and kihon practice. I'm starting to get it, which is a huge step forward.

Dad returned with bookcases for my room to replace the ones I have, which are starting to fall apart. This will require a major cleanup of my shelves and drawers. I guess it's something like the annual overhaul of my room and its contents.

Sunday
First time for me attending the Easter Show in about twenty years. I got lost before I even entered and felt frustrated generally (as well as from a few other things recently), but once I met up with everyone, it was fine.

Mainly wandered around looking at things, which was fine with me. Lots of animals: cute and otherwise. Looked at the flower and garden section, the food section, and the arts and crafts section, before heading for showbags and considering (but not participating in) any of the rides or sideshow games.

Being in a large group was cumbersome at times and led to some confusion. Another thing which was interesting are friends who are friends with people I know - whether I want to know them or not. Does that sound too harsh? Anyway, the Easter Show was interesting, but kind of not really my sort of thing. Don't really like crowds and nothing to really exercise my brain with.

Afterwards, a small groups of us headed in to the city for dinner before all going our separate ways at about 7:30pm; fairly early, but most people had uni the next day.
