Rain and Cool Kendo Chicks

It suddenly just started pouring here. Serious rain for the past twenty minutes. There's a river of gushing water down the road. Meanwhile, I'm sitting here with a warm bowl of oats and honey.

To recap on Saturday's training session: it was intense, especially for my legs as we were practicing fumikomi. I also got a few pointers on my men cut. We also watched some shiai practice as the seniors are preparing for a couple of competitions coming up soon.

Later we had a pretty late lunch at the Lansdowne Hotel and a couple of the beginner girls said that the two girls in shiai were cooler than the guys....lol. I kind of understand where they're coming from, but I think it's all perception. It's an interesting observation nonetheless.

Lately, every time I've been to training, people have been asking me about when I'll be getting my bogu. I don't know. Currently, I think I have enough of the basics to, but somehow, I'm not quite ready to. I will consider it seriously over the next couple of weeks.

What with kendo and my picking up my guitar again recently, my left hand and arm has really been getting a workout. So much so, that I have noticed that I've been using my left hand for things which I didn't previously. That's not exactly a bad thing. Actually, things are going quite well at the moment. Not too much stress, not too bad a backlog of things to do and am enjoying life.
