Sparkle!

Spent yesterday recovering from the 20th birthday of my sister's best friend (also a friend of mine), who lives literally up the road from us. She's an outgoing extrovert, who befriends almost everyone she meets.

It seems that it is quite popular to have themed parties theses days. I wonder what happened to the ordinary party with no proscriptions. It was a sequinned-themed party. I had a top made a few years ago, which I had never worn before, in blue sequin, so that was no problem. A few days ago, my sister and I ended up trawling shops in the city for sparkly eye makeup, which is not my idea of a fun time. I can't say that I hate shopping as much as I did in the past, but there are some things...

Anyhow, all my siblings and I ended up going. We turned up a little late, but it hadn't gotten to full swing yet. Partially because we brought the PS2 with Sony SingStar over. She had the Guitar Hero on Wii going already.

We'd had dinner before going, but there were heaps of snacks and nibblies and drinks at the bar. After a bit of social chitchat and general catching up, we took to playing some games before the birthday girl chivvy everyone outside to do some dancing.

We returned indoors to play some more, with some Twister on in the background. My sister was undefeated in Guitar Hero, but then we do play at home from time to time. Not nearly as often as it might first appear. Managed a pretty good time, but was tired after we'd dropped a few people off and returning home.
