Pre-O-Week 2009

Had the last training session today before O-Wek starts tomorrow. We ran through last minute preparation, detailed instructions for our tasks and our roster. We also received our green t-shirts. They're a bit on the pastel side this year, not the glaring fluoro of a few years past, about which I'm quite disappointed.

We were supposed to receive a bag, hat and shoes too. However, they ran out of bags, the hats are arriving tomorrow and they ran out of sizes in the shoes. I wasn't about to wear a pair of shoes three sizes too big, especially when we'll probably be on our feet for the better part of three days exposed to the elements and unforgiving hard ground.

The O-Bull (weekly magazine O-Week edition) was off the press, but our society's stall is not even on the map. Nor is it listed in the list of clubs and societies. I was more than a bit miffed, seeing as we are already literally the farthest stall from the rest of the stalls.

Well, I did some photocopying for our society and had lunch, during which I realised how much needs to be done before tomorrow. That, and the beginnings of a cold, which is making my head heavy, violent sneezes and sore throat makes me not a happy SPOC.
