O-Week 2009

Having attended all days for all O-Weeks at the University of Sydney since 2004 - first as an incoming student, then as a volunteer SPOC - I have to say that this year had to rank as one of the most disorganised.

The general vibe of the festival was really good though, especially with the extension of the location from the front lawns down Eastern Ave/The Ramblas. As in most years, being right in the thick of things, with about 40-60 other colleagues on the lookout meant that the freebie haul was quite high. I now have enough pens to last the entire year, probably; which is good because I was running out of free pens from last year ^^

Having said that, I still have to say that the general lack of communication stemming from poor organisation on oh-so-many levels was a severe let-down on what could have been a really good experience. Maybe I'm just getting too old for it all. I guess having a fever on one day and being sick for all of them didn't help though.
