Conference, OHS

Going out to uni, only to be talked at for the entire time when there is worse than when classes are in session. At least when classes are on you expect people to try to cram your head full of information, if you have the inclination and concentration to listen.

C&S Conference Day (Wednesday)
Information heavy, humid and crowded. Half the information felt irrelevant and it could have been delivered more effectively. Had a free lunch, at which they ran out of sausages, so had a veggie burger patty instead. Managed to catch up with a few friends, but the day dragged on and on. When it looked like it might finish early, everyone just kept talking and talking at us. We only really went to pick up our stall allocations for O-Week, which they'd sneakily placed at the end of the day. What a bother.

Work Training (Friday)
The entire session was to induct us into the University's systems in place for safety in the workplace and emergency procedures. A lot of rather dry information, but I guess it was important. I was reminded again how demanding my role in the museums is. And our rate of pay has increased, which is welcome, but places an expectation of higher quality in our teaching efforts. Being confronted with 25 school kids is not an easy thing at all.
