Seeing as we don't have kendo training for a while, I thought I'd take the chance to finally get my foot treated.
I have a plantar wart (verucca) on the ball of my foot - a persistent one - which has been a problem for a while. Don't know if it was dread of the treatment or just the hassle of it all, but I should have done this ages ago. It's definitely a problem because it's on my right foot, which undergoes a lot of pressure during kendo.
Anyhow, the virus was beginning to spread, so I had to brace myself for the liquid nitrogen freezing, a treatment which I have undergone before several years ago. For those who have not had it done before, the principle is that you freeze the affected area, which then blisters and falls off, then allowing it to heal over. I might have to go and get a few more treatments done. I wouldn't exactly call it painful (except at the actual freezing), but it can feel quite sore, so walking is problematic, let alone training.
Anyway, I'll be limping a bit for a while. Maybe I'll just avoid walking as much as possible over the next couple of days, although it looks like I'll need to go out tomorrow.
