This is really just an update of events since the last post.

Friday
Class in the morning. Learnt a few things, but was otherwise fairly average.
Attended a departmental seminar where they had really nice biscuits and drinks, but had to leave early to go the IGM of the Oriental Tea Society. Also got a free drink. Had to leave early again, this time to meet with my supervisor to get a few pointers about my funding application.
Went to kendo training, which was intensive. We were doing hayasuburi, which I still haven't got right yet. Ended up with a blister breaking in the middle of training, which caused me to abandon my correct grip for the rest of the session. Not the best way to train. I actually ended up with 4 blisters on my hand (at least they were in the right spots), which is the worst I've had. They're a pain (in more ways than one). At least calluses are useful.
I got a bit 'high' after training, which I blame on high spirits in general and endorphins in particular. This was normal for when I was in my teens, but not so much in recent years. Actually, I wonder if it isn't actually my natural state, when my mind's not off among the clouds. Dinner was very social and some of us ended the evening in front of McDonalds.

Weekend was rather dull, with me doing the usual Unibodhi things, like sending too many emails and transferring all our contacts on our mailing list, which thankfully I don't have to do again.
I spent most of the weekend finalising my application for research funding. That at least, got me thinking about my research proposal.

Monday
Well, yesterday, I had my new user meeting. Am feeling relieved about finally getting the ball rolling with my project, if only to the extent of getting some training on how to use the microscopes.
As the meeting time fell in the middle of kendo training, I went to watch for only a short while before the session ended.

Tuesday
It would be more accurate to say that I chose to stay at home today, rather than that I'm stuck here. What did I actually do today? Well, I must have done something cos the day's nearly at an end.
