Vienna by various means

Saturday

After breaking our fast, we took a train to the centre of town to have a look around. We appreciated the buildings for a while, then wandered to the Naschmarkt, a farmer's market but with a flea market on the side on Saturdays. It was really our kind of thing with lots of food and weird things on sale, with stallholders trying to sell you cheeses and olives.

Had lunch at a noodle place before buying a few items for dinner at the Naschmarkt before coming back to the hostel, where I gave S a haircut. That was interesting. We acquired a Russian-American roommate after who was quite chatty and told us some interesting travel anecdotes. Made some dinner in the kitchen here and I got quite hyper. Shouldn't have had coffee so late in the evening. Luckily, I was able to sleep, but not too well

Sunday

Felt kind of heavy headed today and after a very light breakfast we took the train to the centre of town, where we saw the Cathedral and heard a little bit of mass before taking to wandering the streets. I got separated again at some point after being distracted by some archaeology. Went hunting for lunch before we went to the see the Opera House. Tickets for the evening's show were sold out though. We had hopped on a tram, but it took us away from where we wanted, so we returned and got on one that ran around the ring - I fell asleep after a while after being sleepy all day. We returned to the hostel, where I napped and woke really disoriented. Roommate returned and talked to us for a good while again. We got a couple of kebabs at the Turkish shop for a late and light dinner.

Might not have internet access again for a while - this connection drops in and out a lot too - so this could be the last post in a while. We'll see.
